So in my lurking in the forums and seeing the things Daiske has said about how things work in our version I've noticed things that doesn't make a whole lot of sense to me and I'd like to clarify

We are on an "independent release schedule" for updates (this i understand) which means we are independent from all other versions of the game. The place where things get hazy is that in previous posts he has said that we haven't gotten updates from 3.0 like red runes in eight gates because of technical issues so it got pushed back and cant just be released when it got fixed because we have a schedule that dictates when things will be released and they cannot change that.

Then in the very last post in the current weeks event before he closed it said and I quote "Like any other company, we do not share our plans or schedules for future updates for very simple reason - while it is true we have set schedule, this schedule can still be considered as flexible schedule because changes to it can be made anytime."

So do we have a set schedule that cannot be changed, or do we have a flexible schedule that can change at anytime? And if the answer is the schedule can change at anytime what is the motivation behind holding back these features from previous versions?

A set schedule means they have releases planned of ahead of time, but the reality of software development is that except for rare instances, they are nearly always flexible and will be adjusted as needed.

In terms of motivation, it could be for a ton of different reasons. Say a new feature was scheduled to be released next week, well if there were still significant bugs with it, then they will obviously not want to release it and adjust their timelines accordingly. If things are generally "good enough", they may just release it and patch them later. Alternatively, it could be something due simply to money. Maybe they don't want to do any overtime for something that requires a lot of extra work to make a deadline. Or maybe they want to release the feature in a different way or at a different time because it will make the company more money. Maybe they think releasing something might significantly hurt the game balance. Literally anything you can think of could be a possible reason depending on the issue at hand.

Tbh i think is just a big excuse, as a former student of programing if they wanted to they could put 1 or 2 persons to the task of updating all thats its missing and update it next week if they wanted to, they already have the data packs from cn version all they have to do is translate and "connect" the "Plugins" run a test run to see if everything is ok and thats all, i have noticed that our version has some loose ends where they just disabled stuff so we dont stumble upon it randomly, they are just trying to make the game last longer making 1 update a month or so but they fail to see they are drowning the game as it makes it really boring and its very noticeable that the free content that would help the player to get free stuff is disabled, thats why they bring new ninjas but forget to add like red chakra in 8 gates or full tendo in ultimate training so they can still make money out of that, i know they have to run a bussiness and they just cant go guns blazing with updates but the way they do things its just so shady and wrong, if they accepted our help it would be so much better for players and their team, at this point their word is just empty claims for me, they have to either accept the fact that they are not doing a good job and they are losing money because of that or just keep preteding like the have been for a good while, they do have improved but seriously things could be so much more professional and better on their part. 5.0 will force them to be more player friendly giving us more ways to get stuff for free but i do hope by that time the missings things from past versions of the game are implemented.

1) Oasis doesn't control the content released, tencent does. Oasis can try to push for certain things but can't force them. Oasis mostly just controls weekly events.

2) If they updated everything tomorrow then we would have to wait even LONGER for new features to be added because they can't create them that fast, CN gets new features at a slower pace than we do.

@Mass - As an actual programmer I can tell you it's not as simple or quick as you are making it out to be. Ideally they would take an entire month just to TEST everything if they did one large push. In addition the amount of translations that they need to do isn't a trifling matter.

People have been saying the game was going to die for over a year now, yet somehow we are still here. Yelling about doomsday just for it to not happen again and again just makes you look insane, I would recommend reading "The boy who cried wolf.". The reason they don't listen is partially because so many people just * saying we don't want you to do "X", but they never say what they do want, and then when they do say they want "Y" other people say they don't want "Y", there is no way for a company to appease everyone, so they try to appease the people that they need to and ignore the whiners.

Do I think Oasis could do better? Hell yes, I don't want to see ninjas released in any rng events ever again, I've said as much to them multiple times before, I want a way to buy that ninja outright day one since rng hates me, I want fuku deals to have a ninja in its rebate and the 8 gates shop to be updated cause I want to finish getting my reds and have over 550k points. I don't want gold chakras in events unless they are inits. But asking to be given everything right away because you're bored just means that this isn't the type of game for you, cause you will get bored even with the new features, I would rather have a constant release of features every month instead of 1 huge update then 3 features a year.

You can't compare EN and CN: the CN got in the last month like 2 new ninjas (edo itachi and mei swimsuit) and at least 4 skillbreaks that i remember, possibly more (baki, gaara, SS temari, onoki). As far as new features, they received a new way to get ninja frags this week (the one that uses flags).

About the relationship between oasis and tencent, this is a really grey area and nothing has ever been confirmed by daiske. We are our own version and it's obvious that OG can decide at least how and when things will happen.

To answer OP, we will receive updates when the devs see fit and we will know the day before.

Sure i understand what you are tring to say but if we dont complain and unite all in one argument whats there to do? just let things rolls as they have been waiting for a better tomorrow? i do wish there was a channel to voice ourselves to the actual ppl in charge of all of this, im not trying to ask for them to update all cus im bored, if i were i would be long gone but i do find annoying how they just update things where they can get money from like ninjas, but besides that i do belive we are both right in our own way.

Uniting with one argument would be great, problem is that's not happening. If we could make polls and get people to vote to show support for an idea that would be great. Hell, if you want to take the initiative, create a google form doc to poll players about what they would like to have done, post the link on the forums and when you get a few thousand responses send the results to the mods in the suggestion section.

If that happens then maybe we can convince them to change, but a dozen people on the forum asking for 1 thing wont change their minds ever, and right now we aren't even doing that, we are arguing 50 different things. So far no-one has taken the reigns and done anything though, we are either too lazy or don't care enough, until that changes oasis won't change.

Plus, thanks to the ridiculous amount of servers it's very hard to get communication between them. Only a certain percentage of folks even look at the forum at all...

We do have to understand that whether he says one thing...then contradicts himself right after...
HE WILL ALWAYS FIND A WAY OUT
or if he can't....Your messages...WILL BE DELETED!

We aren't even allowed to UNITE as a COMMUNITY because of this....
Dare i say....DICTATORSHIP

I'm sure others have tried in the past and then...BAM all their hard work....VANISHED
why? because of a certain someone always deleting instead of speaking to us.
In a place where someone could give us information to help us...
we instead get someone to delete our posts and ideas....our beliefs...and we just lose motivation.

YES THE GAME IS DYING
doesn't mean it can't last years...
Oasis could keep this game going...
They keep creating new servers....OLDER PLAYERS(as in experienced ones)
Just move servers or play on multiple accounts on different servers since they already know how it works.
Does that mean there are more players? Not necessarily. It Just means that although the game could be dying...
There are people that switch to newer servers in HOPES that they can spend there and be strong in said server.
Why though? because the game is GOOD
This game is amazing!! it's just kind of....being killed by the company hosting it.
And without being able to get decent feedback(because SOMEONE just deletes our posts) they cannot improve.

I remember all those polls...where WE WON and yet....they implemented what they wanted to implement from the beginning...
The very first one I remember had to do with CROSS SERVER things...
We WON in FAVOR of NOT having Cross Server....ANYTHING lol
and they turned around and ACTIVATE CROSS SERVER....EVERYTHING...really?
Did a Mod go and change the results and say "Yes the community wants this!"

I know a game that practically died already but is still spewing out content.
No lie....it is being run still and if you were to log onto that game...you'd see that there are like no Mods(at least their posts never get deleted)
*ers run amok and is an uncontrollable mess now...
Hey it is still running...so it must be alive right? I guess it depends on the point of view...

Here's one more issue to think about – anything that could possibly even cause unity like this even by accident is taken down because it's inciting drama.

I did a poll a little while back, because it had nothing to do with changing the game aside from maybe one bonus question it stayed up.

I have mentioned it few times. Missing content from version 3.0 was pushed back/cancelled due to serious technical problems that needed required amount of time to create fix, then testing and it could delay version 4.0 for months. We (publishers and developers) have chosen the lesser evil. Now, since it had to be delayed with no ETA or set date because at that point no one knew WHEN and IF missing features will be added. With that being said, all missing features and content from version 3.0 are delayed until further notice. You might ask "Wait, does that mean we might not get them at all?" Absolutely, its an option (not final decision). Company reserves right to change in-game content. Right now it is up to developers to decide if missing content from version 3.0 should be added or not and if yes when. And I know, you might say "But you have promised us to add such features. We demand it right now and right here." It was listed as one of the features that were supposed to be added during version 3.0. However, nothing is promised and we always ask you to strictly focus only on our version. In very very rare occasions, content might be different from other versions and especially mother version due to version differences. CN works on very different system th*.

As for Ultimate Training and update to it - I don't recall it being promised or even mentioned somewhere. We are aware you would like to see new levels to Ultimate Training but at the moment there is no plan to update Ultimate training. We are currently focusing on other features and updates we would like to deliver to you.

Just because I do not reply to some comments or threads does not mean no one reads them. Other moderators always inform me and rest of the team if there is something really special or something they see you mention a lot. Plus, everything I see and I find reasonable and normal I always note and discuss with the rest of the team. What you need to understand is that changes and updates are not made overnight and it takes time. *, yea I know but there is nothing I can do about it. I see a lot of comments discussing what is the relationship between Oasis and Tencent. Honestly? That is something you guys really should not worry about. Sometimes you would like to talk about things that we can't talk about with you due to it being confidential information or simply not public information. I do not think it is necessary for you to know all inside information to be able to enjoy the game. It is probably that you are interested in it. So I am not going to comment or answer comments regarding Oasis and its relationship with Tencent.

Regarding update schedule:

Why we do not share it with you? For very simple reason - because we do not want to. First of all, it would ruin the surprise factor for you if you knew what is coming and when it is coming. Next reason could be that it is considered as confidential information and I really do not know any company that shares its schedule with its community. If there is such company, props to them.

If we were to share such thing with you, it is a huge risk we just don't want to take. There is a lot of changes and updates to our schedules that can happen anytime. So just imagine we release schedule that says version 5.0 will be released this year during September. BUT, 1 week before release of version 5.0, during last and final testing we discover serious bug that should not and will not be implemented to live servers. And what does it mean? Version 5.0 is going to be delayed. There would be a lot of negative and angry comments and discussions about it. Or for example we would make change to our schedule and you would would require us to explain the change or you will not like the change. There is a lot of factors, a lot of negative factors that will cause more problems than good if we were to do such thing. Take missing features from version 3.0 and real and live example and that is something we do not want to happen again.

Hope this clears all of the confusion.

I can see you are always trying to be honest and sincere dai. not that there isn't enough content , I won't talk about content. But please do not change spending meta. People have spent ingots n saved up to more than 25k in the end u give a bad fuku del? I sense that there may not be ninjas in it anymore. People saved for 6 months. They deserve what was the meta. You cant just change the reward anyhow you like to give such a bad fuku deal.

Also , when you have more interesting stuff, im sure people will come back and play. There are tons of ideas

Hope this clears all of the confusion.

Here's the thing with the event schedule and such being withheld. There's two sides to this coin – you've already mentioned the positives, the surprise factor and the risk of last minute changes.

On the negative side, it makes it ridiculously easy to manipulate players into spending more. Say you release a decently good event that people spend on. Next thing you know, everyone's out of ingots. And what's this? Next week we have an even better event, and your local server whales and their infinite supply of ingots can easily cash in and boost his power significantly.

Now all the other players basically have no choice to spend in order to stay relevant. In all fairness, is a bit of a weird/exaggerated example, but I hope it communicates the idea of I'm trying to say – you can force players' hands by imposing this choice of "pay or fall behind" onto them. It's a staple of this type of MMO, sure, but this just turns this element from subtle (usually better for consumer morale) to aggressive and obvious, which usually shows badly.

If we look at Oasis and the general trend of behaviors, we can see this overarching trend of increasing prices, making things that were free in China behind a paywall, et cetera. With a history like that... take a guess, which one of these reasons – the positive, or the negative – does Oasis line with more? Hmm... this one's a tricky one, eh?

Sarcasm aside, it should be, logically, safer to assume that the "negative" aspects (in the players' eyes) of withholding the event schedule are what Oasis aligns with more.

And just as a FYI, there are a lot of mobile games that release schedules and such. Games like Fate/Grand Order, which have a Japanese server that is a few years ahead of the English Server. F/GO players know exactly what they're going to get because the International server follows the Japanese server's footsteps to a T. There's no surprises, no nothing. It'd be so nice if this game followed FGO's footsteps and made things easy and predictable like that...

EDIT: Ah, I almost forgot.

"What you need to understand is that changes and updates are not made overnight and it takes time."

Time? Like what? Do we at least get a vague expectation as to when stuff will get done?

The main reason people ask about Oasis's relationship with Tencent is because they doubt their own ability to change stuff and get heard. Yeah, of course enacting change takes some time. No poo poo. Even a nimbus like Idontcare would be able to figure that out. But when a suggestion goes unanswered for a year, people begin to wonder if it's forgotten, how long it will take, et cetera. You haven't forgotten about good old Dosu and his "Add Dosu" posts, have you? The last one he did was just from general anxiety, from thinking that he was forgotten. I think. I'm not really sure.

I don't know about you, but to me it's a pretty natural thing to get worried about whether you can make an impact or not. It defines whether you have value to whoever you're trying to effect.

Now if you'll excuse me, I gotta get back to writing ADLDICLPNO with Derps. Peace out, yo.

Thank you so much for communicating with us!
Been feeling like you just wanted to ignore us entirely and just delete our comments like usual.
This does at least give us some info on everything.
Main reason why people question the relationship between Oasis and Tencent at all is because we ask about things...
and ask you to send it up...and we don't get back feedback on whether it went anywhere....will go anywhere...or is even in consideration...
So because we try to give and get nothing back in return...we're like "What happened? can Oasis even do anything? Maybe even Tencent won't listen to Oasis"
and things of the sort....whether that be true in any way or not...we may or may not ever actually know.
BUT we only wonder because we get very little back from Oasis.
People will listen and people will expect to be heard. That's how a good community works.
When either the company itself or the players...stop communicating...THAT is when questions and problem arise.

Company says nothing to players....players begin to speculate and question a lot more....
Players say nothing to company....probably means they tried to ask and got nothing...and just gave up and left.
Then the community ends :( the game is great. Just us wanting clarification on things.

Such as...if there are such things as polls...and if we are allowed to change a few things then why can't you ask the community what they want?
"Here's a poll! if you guys want the missing content from 3.0 then it will cause a delay on 4.0 for months"
and have people decide. If such a thing is known to us...we can respond. In such a case you would literally let US pick the "lesser evil"

Perhaps you do have a schedule to keep...a hidden one that can change at any moment because of a bug or many and so you cannot tell us....
"FEATURE X will be implemented next patch!"

That's understandable of course.
BUT instead of giving us a date...you can tell us something like
"There will be delays but the team is working on FEATURES A, B, C and D to be released hopefully in the next few months"
That's not a promise at all...but it gives us an idea at how long we may have to look forward to to HOPEFULLY have them.
and then there's the fact that even if the TEAM works on many possible Features...not all would be implemented at the same time either.

I know a company that lets the community know of their schedule.
They don't give dates until they know for sure but overall their team works well and we can expect it about a week or 2
after it goes into the player testing server. They allow players to test it separately from their actual accounts and help with bugs.
Then they usually implement the feature a week later OR they let us know there will be a delay of about a week or so.
When they will have sales...they also let players know of what items will be up for sale and even by how much %%
So that players can save up and buy during those open times.
They are always open to player suggestions and have even implemented features the community has come together to vote on
(weirdly enough...never had a post deleted there lol)
items and game modes have also been implemented due to community asking for it.
Although it didn't happen overnight either. Took a year for some..years for others....
But they have always been open about their plans for the future.
Always telling us about features they wish to implement and how said features are starting to look.
Even early character designs so far back as even 1year+ before it being actually implemented because the community wanted to know when the next X Character
would appear.

But yeah...we'll understand if you have things you can or can't say.
We just want to hear YOUR voice....OASIS' voice over here in the forums too....
Give us some polls if it's possible...
(though nothing like the cross server stuff we wished hadn't been implemented...and voted to a majority in favor of not having...just for Oasis to implement anyways)

that one was kind of sad....

Company and its developers deciding if certain features are worth adding or not alright cool!
but if it can be decided to add or not...any feature at all....
would it not be possible to ask the community what they would prefer?
Such as getting Feature X but delaying Patch YZ ?
or getting Patch YZ but delaying or even getting rid of Feature X?
^
I would really like to know about this last one.
Because if you think about it...IF we...the Community...gets to pick the "Lesser Evil" ourselves...then we really can't even blame Oasis if for whatever reason we regret our decision....since we would have picked it ourselves with a majority.

I know another company that has polls for updates...
We have to have a 75% IN FAVOR for the update to happen.
They toss out around 10-15 ideas of different updates they can work with and implement.
If it's even 74.9% or so...they will not implement it and scrap the idea entirely.
While they do add in normal things themselves when necessary....
They still talk to the community a lot about future updates and how WE would like to see them or not.

If a FEATURE is REALLY good....I might not even care about DELAYING another for it.
IF there were a poll...and I still don't get it...then I wouldn't even be mad...because at least we were allowed to choose.

  • Uniting with one argument would be great, problem is that's not happening.

The problem is that making our own polls is, de facto, forbidden by the forum rules because entice drama because is impossible to avoid the drama in those matters and last time they made a public poll they wholly disattend the outcome of it (do you remember we asked for x-server swb to never happen, true?) and after that moment they altogether removed that section of the forum.
