I have noticed a very strong focus on Discord. Most mod posts now end with a recommendation and a link to Discord. Why is that? Is the official message board broken in some way?

While yes we all started on this forum, but if you want to have a conversation with other members/moderators (whether in message or forum replies), Discord is the way to go since you'll be getting notified if anyone is replying to you through DM and the server chat refreshes on real-time, making conversations a lot more smoother. Forum on the other hand is outdated and it'll take a long time for people to get notified when a reply has been made either on direct message or forum replies.

Edit: Plus, Discord is much more user friendly and a lot more bigger than forum, so there's another reason why people prefer it rather than this forum.

Great question! I am going to go on a bit of a tangent, so bear with me haha.

For a long time, the forum has been one of the go to places to discuss, ask questions, and bring up ideas. The other option was to contact Customer Service directly especially when it comes to account specific inquiries.

Over time and countless suggestions, the idea of Discord was brought up and introduced. Discord became a new place for the community. It was not perfect (there were a few iterations), but through time and the hard work from everyone, it became something more than just an idea.

With the growth of Discord came the need for resources in order to maintain and also the tools necessary to support the community. Of course, posting here is absolutely welcomed! The reason we recommend joining or asking questions in our Official Discord is because both the community and staff members are all there and they would have the tools available to help.

TLDR: A lot of the resources from the forum have moved to support the Official Discord, which is why Moderators recommend to go there. You cаn аlso get quicker responses and a conversation going because most of the community is there.
