I see that there's been at least 1 other forum post regarding this but it's closed so I think this warrants a new thread. Isn't it kinda silly to even have a points based qualifier for the Great Ninja War if the tournament itself seems to be almost randomly seeded? It isn't uncommon for the #1 and #2 ranked teams in point quals (and also group power) be on the same side of the bracket and sometimes even first round against each other. Will this ever be fixed or even looked at?? It *s that your group could be the 2nd best on the server, but you could get kicked out of the GNW in the first round due to random seeding.

it makes it more fair to the lower groups since it means they wont always lose to top 1-4 groups round 1. yeah it might * for group 2 but there is no real way to fix it that isnt even worse for the other 90% of players

How is this more fair to the lower groups? Do you mean it gives the lower groups an advantage? It certainly isn't fair; it's like having a sprinting tournament with one side of the bracket being the Jamaican olympic squad and the other half just kindergartners. Sure, one of the kids is gonna make the finals, but is it fair to the people that spent so much time to train for the event?. A seeded bracket is pretty much perfectly fair. There still is room for an upset, but having #1 and #2 seed go at it first round is kinda silly.

I don't think it makes it fair, man. If the group you're in is filled with a number of people from the top 40 (group 1) and you lose to a group with most of the top 10 (group 2) in the first round, its kinda unfair to those who've worked their way to being part of top 40. Especially if group 2 has to fight a group way weaker than group 1 in the finals.

I thought it all had to do with the points, and speed in completing the qualifier on Wednesday? The points make sure you qualify, and the speed decides where you are placed. If you finish all your matches first, you are the first slot on the tournament chart (top left). If you are the second to finish, the second slot (top right) and so on. To be honest, I have no source for this information other then a few weeks I've watched where my group ends up on the tournament board. If this is how it works, it isn't random but based on your performance in the qualifier. This also means that if the two top teams preform like the two top teams should, they would not face each other round one.
