Is this true?

I had the same answer (but 1st guess is Rock Lee, though). I clicked the notification away fast and I didn't get to know if I got it correct or ended up same as you. But regardless, I got 10 Shira Frags from Guessing Competition and all my other Mysterious Ninja Frags turned into Shira Frags right away and got him immediately.

It is true. I am puzzled as others also had issues, but theirs was due to the lack of capital S and I used capital S. I am pretty positive that I am among the first that guessed it in my server so I should be getting even further more.

I also have had this issue and a few others. Used the capital S, and told we guessed incorrectly. Not sure if there was a space at the end that stuffed it up or something but it's unfair.

There certainly wasn't. I made sure to type everything correctly to dodge these kind of issues but here we are.

Likewise, I first guessed 'Lee' (and not Rock Lee, since they call him 'Lee' in the game). Then I was told by others that one hint mentioned the mystery ninja was a Hidden Sand Village Ninja, so I used my 2nd guess on Shira. I received 58 fragments, which is okay, but I deserve the fragments received when guessing correctly.

I'm pretty sure I'll recruit him, but getting him on the path to 4 stars will be more annoying now.

If you can hit top 50 in your server at the end of the season you should be almost guaranteed 4*. So I wouldn't worry too much. Just the boxes at the bottom are 18 more frags, and probably the same for next month too. 58 + 18 + 18 + 80 = 174. And then you have the ticket draws which I think drop more frags, so if you can get 6 from all your tickets you should be ok. If you hit top 15, you won't even need to do that though. Since you'll already have 194 frags.

i guessed him correctly got 78 of his frags since i was answered 22 or 21 place to guess him correctly and i did with a capital S since i knew all long it was Shira (I rather wait for clues from people then guess the answer right away)

I also have this issue. My 1st guess is Shira with the capital "S" and I think I'm one among the 1st who guessed right. So at the start of April I was wondering why others have Shira while I'm 22 frags short. I had to light up 7 missions jut to recruit him.
