1＃ Go ToSo, after 5.0 came out we started getting moon coins instead of tools every time with TI. I figured I would check and see how long it would take a new player to get a red tool from a common TI. I chose Rinnegan Hard and the red sword for my testing, since it only had one red tool that can only get won there, and is probably the first TI players will have to grind to get that red tool. So, I took 2 players every day and In the combined last 650 attempts, the red sword has been won only once. Which is around a 0.15% chance. As opposed to just winning a tool which seems to be ~15-20% (or just under 1 per 5 attempts).
This means for a new player to get just one of the red tools would take at least 6 months. Before the update you could get a rare tool in around 2 months time. It is possible that the tool drop rate was increased for other TIs and the red sword in Rinnegan was forgotten. I honestly expected to have gotten a second sword before now. As for a solution, I have a couple ideas and one or all could be done without too much trouble.
1) Increase the chances for getting tools instead of moon coins.
2) Change the rewards for Friend attempts in Team instance, so they always give tools instead of moon coins.
3) Greatly increase the chance of getting the rare red tools in each instance.
I've got all the red tools, so it doesn't impact me much at all. But, it has got to * for new players.

I think the red sword was hard to get even in 4.0 as I still don't have it and I've been playing since February... I agree with you though. The drop rate for Ti tools needs to be increased, otherwise it would take new players 2 years to collect all tools, level them up and reforge them...

The drop rate of red tools (but red gourd that is a special case) and red natures is independent from the drop rates of the gold tools/moon coins
Moon coins just took the place of a part of the gold tools chances, but not of the red tools.
If you had, lets say, 5% to drop a red tool in 4.0 you still have now 5%. What changed now is that on other 95%, 80% of the times you get moon coins.

TI should give us tools after we reach our weekly moon coins limit
Something like this would be great, been grinding for the sword from rinnegan TI from before 5.0. Since then ive only even seen in the cards as a possible drop once

This is not possible.
When it appears on a card is sure you get it.
This applies to every red tool but red gourd.
