As you can see on this picture there's no chakra gain after Ay did a standard attack. When he does his actual normal standard attack it works but when an opponent is tagged - no chakra. Is this intended? i hope not.

That is correct.


Ay isn't using a regular standard attack when he prowls onto someone who's tagged. It's a modified standard (Passive Attack), similar to Sage Naruto.
