If you made Regular Tenten a sword Ninja you'd have to apply it to the GNW version too who is already arguably too strong.

All the ninjas listed as sword users in the game have something in common, they have their sword/blade with them at all times. Tenten, after she uses the weapons, puts it back into the scrolls.

Root of warrior won't be much of a problem, but warrior killing intent will be.

I don't see in what it will be stronger than mei mabui azure fang version. Considering that the highest part of the damage is from ninjutsu and warrior intent doesn't boost it, while water enhancement does. Yes, ok, she could use the mystery a second time if she was sworduser but only is she killed something in round1 with it and without the ninjutsu boost and barrier i see it very difficult, unless you face a bd.

So should Kimimaru be swordbearing? He creates a "sword" out of his body if you even want to call it that. More like spikes and his spine's a whip. Asuma just uses modified kunai knives and is considered swordbearing. Mangetsu summoned swords from a scroll, but it doesn't seem like he uses a weapon at all on the China server so I can see why he isn't considered swordbearing there.

Replace WB Asuma with Darui.

Yes, iruka, tenten gnw, wb asuma, azure fang is a pretty well reknown lineup for wb that lands higher damage than the supposed to be mb version since, again, water enhancement boost tenten ninjutsu while warrior intent wouldn't do it. If you imagine tenten had swordbearer tag and you would run iruka, mb, wb asuma, tenten gnw team you would land way less damage than the usual blitz team with darui or mifune for the simple fact that to use her mystery in round 1 you should use calm mind standard from mb and so no lightning armor + high crit standard + bloodthirsty demon (since, i suppose, you would run root of warrior, otherwise you have or to use btd with lightning armor to fire also iruka in round1, but tenten would have to wait for mb standard to use her mystery giving her the same limitation mabui tenten mei owns for round 1 with the not slight difference that if gets a controlling bad status you have no hope to heal her out of it, or to use calm mind with lightning armor but also in that case you can be interrupted if not with tenten directly with lightning armor).
