  • So assuming that huge money spenders are a non-factor in this equation (if they are present this discussion shouldn't exist because it should be obvious that Boycotting events only hurts f2p players and that p2ws don't care.) This is coming from someone who plays Server 1 where over 150 players have spent like 3 months of rent on the game probably and who is currently leading the top group on his server due to having prior experience.

If your group is falling behind the top group and being bullied heavily then odds are you need the events more than they do because you are not being efficient & they have more game knowledge than you do. Often a core group of players who have played before can make even completely new players strong enough to bully those with no guidance. That's just the way this game goes. So, with that said, if someone is already more efficient than you are what good does it do you to remove an entire event when things like refine runes and summons can be GAME CHANGING for f2p (both are available from the ranked and summon tokens received in Sage). It is entirely possible for these players to search for guides on the game to further their knowledge and make strides in closing the gap naturally (via the level cap, steep costs in upgrades for those who are already ahead, etc.).

The only positive of preventing a whole server from doing Sage is the private sense of pride that your stubbornness brought everybody else down with you.
sage world is probably the one place this makes sense though, because the losers get basically nothing. You can only get low refine runes, which you only need a small amount before they are useless. Summons are useful sure, but buying a summon with points takes a ridiculous amount of time. I've been playing for almost 4 months, missed at most 3 or 4 sage worlds, and only have enough points to buy 55 frags. That's about 6 months to choose 1 summon, during which you'll get 3 summons just simply from the daily free draws.

If your opponents are colluding, or if you're just that much weaker, then the choice is whether or not you want to give your opponents hundreds of refine runes + more so you can get an extra summon. not sure what you would think, but to me that's a horrendously bad trade.

This is honestly really intriguing to see and read about, you guys managed to bring power hierarchies and political strategies into an anime browser game. The social experiment folks would probably be interested in seeing how this all plays out.

Runes, on the other hand, are valuable and much better for spending summoning points on. Plus, the guys on the winning side will get big rewards no matter which group, p2w ot f2p. And the chance to be on the winning side is pretty much even for everybody.

Very interesting topic, I have never really liked the sage world battlefields system. So I respect the solution this group found. As a lower power player, be it p2w or free to play, with the sage system you are at the mercy of the high powers playing it. The event gives the highest BP players the power to bully or collude freely. I myself have been getting spawncamped by a top player cause of a personal grudge for months and there is nothing you can do about it as a player. It is also very common on our server to see group members not attacking eachother. Since a lot of people are not easy to change, especially on the internet, I see changing the event to lessen the opportunity to bully/collude as the best option. But this will most likely not happen (for a long time anyway). I think the option to track players does not help at all either, but this could just be an opinion not shared by others :)

As a sidenote. I have been top 2/3 power on the server for a long time. Nonetheless I hate this system that only benefits top players. It is basically only fun for the top powers. This post was last edited by LightningLion at 2017-1-31 01:58

My server just ended up dying because of a powerful group. Quite frankly at least they're fighting back and trying to keep the server alive, I had to start over on a new server.

While runes do help a bit with power, the effects are rather minimal due to diminishing returns. I'm pretty much already at level 5's across the board, so that would just be upgrading 6 runes from 5's to 6's, which is maybe about 100 power. And that's with all the summoning points I have, not just the points gotten from sage world.

What does the winning side get anyways? I thought it was just some low refine runes or something. Only ever been on the winning team once like two months ago, don't even remember what the prizes were. The real prize for me was always the high refine runes.

The rewards for "winning" Sage World but not being top of your team are:
2x Low Refines
250 Summon Points
50,000 Coins
2x Summon Scroll
3x Seal Fragments

The best part of the rewards are the summon points/scroll, but I don't think a 1/3 chance of being on the winning team is worth giving your enemies a bunch of "free" guaranteed advanced runes. Especially if like OP said everyone is colluding to make sure their group members take the top of each team so they can monopolize all the best rewards. I view it like this: the scrolls, fragments and point I win are more valuable to me then the advanced runes are valuable to them. They can get advanced runes more easily than I can get scrolls, etc.
If they still have ways to widen the gap, tha gap will be widening regardless of you failing the Sage world battlefield. In which case, all you do is shooting youself in the foot.

That said, there really is no point in forcing yourself through this if you cannot make yourself get some enjoyment or a sense of accomplishment out of the event. This post was last edited by Mitrandir at 2017-1-31 19:14

  • As for the order not to participate in Sage World... well no one was happy with the results from the last Sage World we had. Our Strongest Power farmed weak players early for crazy points, killing many on the first turn and racking up a crazy +20 win streak.

That combined with group politics (his people don't attack people from their own group) left only members of his group to take top slots on every team, thus one group monopolizing all of the advanced rune prizes even on the non-winning teams.

With Sage World that stacked and with that much collusion with players playing not for their battlefield team, but for their groups outside of the event... it was a surprisingly easy order to follow.
Regarding Sage, it is what it is...i have a guy with 61k power atm, that just goes on sage, and farms people, literally farms people, he's the strongest in power, and just runs by people who have wins hover their characters, he got 20k points from them, making it to 20 wins in a row, yeah it *s, but at this point i could care less, i just play this game for fun at this point, since the merge.

Regarding SS convoys, i stop doing them, no point in giving 50 free coupons to a stronger player than me, so i rather they take from someone else, than me, im not giving anything to them, i'll leave them starving instead, nor i plunder, i refuse to plunder(yes i know im losing 150 chance at a coupons) due to be stronger players than me, and even if i was top power in my server i wouldnt plunder, nor do SS convoys, this model has a lot of flaws, for example:

-u can plunder 3x but what's the risk you being a 85 encountering someone stronger than you(unless ur top power),
-Casuals can only do 1 SS convoy(10 ingots paywall), and u have to be under the top 3 players protection on your server to get 30 coupons (vs 50 coupons).
-If by some means u go for that SS missions, you have a high chance of being plundered by someone sitting at top 3 or top 5 power in server, and guess what, u just handed him 50 coupons, and he gave u 15 coupons.

I dont think this system is fair, especially on servers where u have heavy * players that spend on a weekly basis, monthly basis, whatever, and want to have a huge power increase(up to them really, none of my business), which it's one of the reasons i choose not to s* feed them anymore coupons, cuz hey it's my choice, if you chose to do a SS convoy and u dont have the protection of the strongest players on your server, chances are you giving out 50 coupons and keeping 15 coupons(call that fair). But it's whatever, i rather just be patient, cuz this game is going to be stale(regarding power) at some point, so casuals are going to catch up, just have patience people, you'll start making * people work for their wins.

I think the biggest issue isn't just the Strong Power bullying people, P2W is P2W, and Strong Powers are gonna Strong Power. Our issue is how specific parties are colluding in Sage World and are metagaming the event by fighting for their group's win and a monopoly on advanced runes than their own Sage World team.

To make the event more fair Oasis should make collusion like this harder. They should remove the scoreboard or at least hide the names/power so it isn't as easy to identify who your group members are and pick on the lowest power players. Likewise they should hide all titles above character names to again, make it harder to identify specific ninja both within their group and without..

Likewise the event needs better participation rewards because 2/3rds of players get almost nothing from the event besides some ranked coins. It does a poor job motivating lower level players to enter, just to be a punching bag for stronger powers, the current looser/paritcipation rewards aren't very motivating. If they aren't going to make the event worth the time of lower power players I don't know how Oasis expects them to take part.

Doubly so when the event is so easily meta-gamed by group members colluding with one another. If people are gonna meta-game the results of the event, I think its more than fair if one group decides to meta-game the event right back, so the event never happens and they loose on the opportunity.
