Since no one has really answered you, I think you should just do a bit of stalking i'd say on the top players of your server. What you do is click on their name on the ranking, then click on "view data" and you can see some of their ninjas and items, then click on view tactics to see their battle line-up formation. It's a nice feature I myself learn from fighting other players and seeing their lineups.

Early on, Hinata/Sasuke/Sakura or Kabuto worked well. All of them are quite easy to obtain as well.
