Well.. to defeat someone higher level than you, you will need lots of power.
Refines should be at least lvl 4, equipment fully upgraded. Magatamas at least lvl 3 or 4, your ninjas should be fully awakened. Your ninjas' moods are also important to gain power, group skills as well. Tactics give looots of power, so I recommend to invest some coupons into it, also armour gives lots of power so rank 3 is a must. The thing is i am at level 81- And my battle armor is at level 3 and my highest refine is around level 6-7. Also my power is around 30700k. The player i want to beat is at level 83 and has power around 37k. I am little slower than that person and sometimes i can outspeed that person but the problem is my power. About mood my mood is around 25% to every charakter.

Ya too hard defeat someone with higher power th* but fire main has a chance to win hehe.

a good team also helps were if they are fire mains you can increas your chances of winning using sword ninjas including your main that work to gather and run root then kill there main it will lower tobis damage and root makes you immune to there control for rounds

Counter his build.

I think the cut off point is around 4k power. Over 4k power unless their team is weak against your team the weight of raw stats makes it hard to beat.

I beat people 10k~ power higher then me when i had good build against them. There is no cut off point since it's relative to total power, 30k vs 40k power is same as 10k vs 13k early on, since it's about 30% difference.

If your team c ounters their well then ye its easier.

in my opinion...

1. try to do Strong approaching and upgrade your battle armor as much as possible. Do eight gates rune too. they help with the team you're currently using. next, if you have a set team that works with everything (like pvp, sage, and plot instances), try investing on those characters' moods. they really do help.

2. as for refining, since you did mention you lacked in speed, you could invest on those.

but overall, although power and level do contribute a lot in beating others, try countering with build.
in my server, there was a lvl 73 with lower power, and he beat a lvl 77 with higher power (build with mei, water main, ao, and *forgot the last character) –– which was someone who was top 8 power.
