Summary: A continuing story of the 5 Naruto Online Mains in a slightly different universe than the actual Naruto. Midnight’s team arrived at their destination, but it wouldn’t be so easy entering the tower…

***The settings have been slightly shifted from the Naruto universe to match the story. They'll be explained as the story progresses, but don't be surprised if you suddenly find someone that was alive dead, or someone dead alive. =D

Note: I'm using character titles for the names temporarily (Midnight Azure Scarlet Breeze Crimson), but definitely willing to decide on an actual name. Comment below if you've got any name suggestions!

Note 2: Rated it as T because I plan on writing some material that should definitely be rated like that. However, not all of them are necessarily T.






Forest of Death (6): A Solo Performance


Midnight returned to his team mates who were waiting for him after he ran off. Noticing Midnight, Breeze got up to say something for running off alone but stood in silence as she noticed him covered in blood, but un*hed. Midnight glanced at Breeze as he knew what she wanted to say but walked past her, heading towards the central tower. “...I saved a few friends and took their scroll in return. Let’s go.”


Sai stood up wordlessly and followed Midnight, leaving Breeze standing alone for a moment. She trudged along behind them without saying anything as she knew whatever she asked would remain unanswered.


Anko watched the group with the other supervisors from the central tower, heading towards the central tower with both scrolls in hand at a stunning time of 30 minutes. Considering the time it would take to walk here, they’d almost be tied for the sand siblings a few years ago who set the shortest record of 39 minutes.


Soon, Midnight’s team arrived at the central tower where he saw 2 other teams waiting for someone to show up. Judging from their headbands, both were from the sand. “Oh look…people showed up.” “Is that blood on his clothes?” “Was getting tired of waiting…"


The two teams slowly raised themselves, drawing their weapons while taking a threatening stance. A tall man with a rather tattered fashion that looked like the leader held out his hand as he spoke. “You guys must be pretty tired from the fighting you had, huh? Hand over the scrolls you have, kids, and we’ll let you go.”

Midnight raised his arm, stopping Sai and Breeze. He walked towards them alone, marching as if nothing was standing in his way to begin with. Sai remained expressionless as Breeze managed to talk to Midnight briefly. “…Careful.”


The sand ninjas started to laugh as the bloody ninja approached them alone. Soon, 5 of them were charging at Midnight, various weapons in hand while the leader remained in the back, casting some sort of jutsu.


Midnight drew his sword and dashed into them at lightning speed, stopping in the midst of the group. Before anyone could react and attack the boy that stood in the middle, Midnight stabbed his sword onto the ground as he infused it with chakra. “Chidori Blade: Shadow.”


A burst of lightning blinded the scene as the 5 sand ninjas fell to the ground, paralyzed and dying as they gasped for breath in shock. Midnight picked up his sword and pointed the tip at the leader of the group, standing only a few metres from where he was. “…Anything else you wanna say?”


The sand leader made a nervous smile as he finished casting his hand signs. “Yeah kid…you’re done!” Midnight cringed at the words as he tried to walk closer, but realized his legs were immobilized. He looked down to find his legs encased in sand, pressing at him with high pressure.


“This is the kekkei genkai technique that only a few people in our entire village c*e. Bad luck, kid.” The sand ninja raised his hands as the sand climbed onto Midnight’s body, soon encasing him completely.


“Why that-“ Breeze reached for her fan as she was about to move, but Sai grabbed her shoulders and s* his head with a smile. “It’ll be fine.”


The sand ninja clenched his hands into a fist as he yelled. “…Sand Burial!” The sand that encased Midnight shrunk as the pressure around it grew tenfold, attempting to crush everything inside. Breeze shrieked as she covered her eyes, turning away. She saw this technique before as her brother’s close friend was a skilled user of it - and she knew the results of the person receiving it. The sand ninja lowered his arms as he gloated about his victory. “Too bad if that guy had the scrolls since those would be crushed too…hahaha!”


On that note, the block of sand exploded outwards as Midnight walked out, his body sizzling in his cloak of chakra and lightning. “Don’t worry. They’re fine.” Midnight pointed his sword at the sand ninja and shot out a spear of lightning before he could react, *ing through his neck as he fell to the ground, dead.

Midnight turned around and walked towards the few sand ninjas that were barely alive, stabbing their hearts with his sword to end their futile attempts to live. He urged his team to come over. Sai tapped Breeze. “It’s over. All good.” Breeze slowly turned to look at the clearing again to see Midnight, unbelievably fine, with all enemies on the ground as corpses. Breeze was shivering in fear as she approached Midnight, while Sai was as calm as ever. The three of them gathered before the entrance of the central tower as Midnight spoke. “We’ll wait here and eliminate anyone that tries to enter. It’ll decrease our competitors.”


“Wait, you plan on killing everyone that comes here?!” Breeze yelled at Midnight, but only to get a curious expression back from him. “Precisely. Is something wrong?”

Sai merely nodded and smiled at the suggestion, sitting down against the door as he started to draw things on his scroll. Breeze tried to say something, but knowing these two, they wouldn’t listen to her at all. She sat down against the wall, burying her face between her knees to not see the corpses in front of her.


Midnight tossed the scrolls to Breeze. “Keep it. It gets in my way.” Midnight stared into the woods like a predator waiting for his prey to show up, eager to finish the exam as quick as possible.
