I started playing at the April first , could I still get the event with madara edo for free ? I'm in s1914 Limbo Border Jail NY

Why Madara Edo will only be free for new player ? The event should be for everyone the amount of reward is Huge too . Madara Edo cost aproximatively 12k gold in the event of 2 week before , hence people wasted around 250$ in the game to get a new character that they could get for free if they just created a new acount . This event should be available for everyone !
