Yeah I'm pretty sure this is correct, when that little "Go Crazy" text pops up for Rinnesasuke or SOSP it means they've entered explosive mode. If SOSP only entered it after the mystery he wouldn't regain the health in damage done from the mystery itself, but we know he does, so Sasuke's effects also start right before the mystery.
