Yeah, would be good to have a female lightning and earth main

Thats a cool thing to see, but if oasis added an option to change the main's gender, they would eventually scrap wind main or Earth main's talent and other ninjas that buffs certain gender. I think a genderbent clothing/costume is possibe as it wouldn't mess up the codings for characters/ninjas with gender-specific buffs.

It was just a thought is all.

What's bad in a female earth main that shields males? Or in a male breeze dancer that shields females?

Could a suit wind main type idea or the revesed idea for earth main,but I see it main have been a bad idea.

Nah doing it based off a costume is a good idea. It would be a lot easier than changing a lot of other things in game just to make it work properly. Like how the speed of light clothing aged the characters. Same could be done with a male/female outfit. I doubt they would entertain the idea of making every costume work like that though. Would be nice if it was at least 1 though.
