I typically reserve judgement on events until I see them in practice but upon first look this is what I'm thinking:

-LOVE Myoboku Trial and Great Plates, fantastic job giving us yet another free ninja in Haku

-The release of all these new ninja is kinda troubling but I'm just deciding to skip the majority of them

-I'm personally happy to see Guy's Turtle back, now i can finish him.

-Also happy to see the cap go up to 105 as well as Training Grounds.

Now we just have to see how it all shakes out when put into practice.

There's a difference between wanting occasionally ninjas, but not often, and between having every one or two weeks a new ninja. This is a little bit too fast.

Or...when I think about it, before 5.0 Oasis said, that they were slow because of bugs and other problems that required to be fixed since 3.0, and but now they have a catching up to do, meaning that if there weren't problems after 3.0 through 4.0, we would have had Minato some time ago, and 5.0 we would have had some months before as well, since OG fell back from schedule. So I suppose this is being them catching up to the schedule.

Its not weird, every version got its own plan, whether its good nor bad. The good decision like free ninja, or bad decision like new ninja came too fast.

Huhuhu lucky new players in new servers all they will buy are good strong new ninjas now haha old players like me spent my ingots on old ninjas. Like akatsuki and sage treasures. Lucky for them they dont need to waste too much money.
