Planning is most importatnt for refining, try to go for big jumps like level 5 to 9 or 8 and so on during rebates for best results. Some people do 5 to 8 and then 8 to 10. Make your own style based on how you need other parameters to be too, as you cant spend on refines alone, as coupons are a limited resource and need to be reallocated based on priority.
