The targeting system works for main abilities , like if you are a wind main for example and target someone , after the rasengan , your team will combo the targeted enemy ,or guy and neji canceling abilities , they atack the targeted person instead of random atacking who casts an ability first:) This post was last edited by 107***@facebook at 2016-8-26 20:25

Targeting does not work in Autobattle. You need to target first, then use the skill you want.

The "target" (and I mean clicking on enemies, not tag) works only with main talents and not taijutsu. The taijutsu favors the ninja right across from you, then the ninja to the top through the ninja to the bottom. Personally I think this is a good system since I can wear down enemy tanks in the front while targeting the medics in the back with heavy hitters/combos.

It does just its very picky. Most of the time, you have to click the ninja's feet for it to work. If you see a blue circle underneath one of the ninjas, that is the ninja you are targeting. If no unit is selected, it targets the unit directly in front of it or itself.
