well tanks are there to TANK basic Attacks , It general Knowledge thats what tanks are for , but evey tank in this game can die from standerd attacks on turn 1. is there a point to tanks ? Healers out tank this games tanks MIdnight blades self healing alone can take him from 100health to full health with 1 mystery, is he a healer? no

not just Midnight blade , water main can kill a roshi simply with basic attacks

i agree no tank should be 1 shot ever water and lightning are massively over tuned

1: Roshi isn't a tank, it's a DPS that also have a stacking defense buff. If you consider him a tank you are mistaking a lot.

2: On par power true tanks like Kimimaro, Gaara Shippuuden or Han don't die in the right setups.

The LM's standard that completely ignores the defence is totally overpowered, it has to be at least a given amount of defence not 100% pierce through your skin type of attack.

But that's incorrect.

Super Armor doesn't qualify someone as " True Tank". However, being unable to combo a ninja does reduce the overall normality of damage someone would take.

Roshi is a tank. Scaling defense makes it so, and his core weakness is the early game. However, if he survives, his absurd survivability is shown. Topping it with Immunity to combat debuffs. He's a true tank.

Additionally, characters with scaling defensive stats (Defense, Res) are tanks. Jirobo, Kimimaro. Etc.

You can say the exact same thing about Roshi "Won't die in the right setups"

Boruto's Granny 3* is pretty good, thus she doesn't scale, but her clones are annoying.

I think you are misunderstanding the basic attack of the Lightning Main... It ignores defences like Hinatas Mystery, Neji Taunt or First row puppet protections.

He ignores amour values aswell

Remember that isn't so on all the LM standard attacks.

OP Regarding LM and Roshi, of course LM will have an advantage due to Lightning being strong against Earth.

midnight blade can turn 1 kill any ninja in the game , if he counters them , such as a earth ninja he kills that earth tank and procceds to kill the next in line

Lightning > Earth
Wind > Lightning
Water > Fire
Fire > Wind

Earth > Water

Keep in mind Lightning Main is most effective when it has more power than you.

(Also Hinata stops LM turn 1)

If he dies in the first round then obviously, he isn't a tank

Or you know, power difference matters.

Kimimaro can survive Lightning mains, provided that he doesn't overpower Kimimaro by a large margin, plus Kimimaro is mooded up on his defense (Or runs RoW).
