u could actully fight them ? last group summon we couldn`t atack the elite ninjas at all after summon died ( 2nd stage) . o.O so the entire group i`mm part in thought event was over and maybe we should have fought the elites before the summon.

Yup. Elite ninjas appears immediately to people who finished their 10th round summon. Maybe it got something to do with our summon wasn't dead when we finished our 10th round.

It bugs me a bit that we have to exit the instance to team up to fight the elites though. Those buggers are tough.

The elites spawn DURING snake stage, not after. It spawns as the snake takes damage, regardless of rounds. Thou since it can only attack idle player, if you are still in your 10 rounds, they do NOTHING.

They are only a hindrance to completing snake and are not important in and of themselves. If you can burn down the snake without fighting them, everything is FINE.

And that's why they active attack players, because if they don't, they can just be avoided and won't do anything.

What purposes do they serve then? Hinder your chance at killing the snake. For one, they tie you up, so wastes your time. For another, if they defeat you, you lose a snake chance. So if, for example, you came late and have not attacked the snake at all but they have already spawned. They jump you and kill you 3 times. You are out of luck, you don't get to attack the snake at all(I'm not sure if you get any reward for having 0 damage done, you are placed onto the ranking for entering the summon zone so you might)

The first time we did the new summon, we almost didn't finish. Vast majority of us were wiped before we could form teams. And the remaining two players had to form a team and, due to them continuously attacking them, had to clean the entire field before hitting the snake again. We completed snake like 50 seconds before deadline.

So while the unable to form team in snake instance is probably a bug (or design flaw) the fact that they seek you out is integral to their function, or they might as well not exist.

I think it's part of a bug, not being able to form a team once your inside the summon area.

However, you can form a team outside the summon area (in the group base, at the frog npc Fukasaku) and then enter the summon area. You're better off this way, actually. That way, more people can get the buffs that are dropped from fighting the enemy ninjas in the first phase. Once that is done, keep your team together and go fight the snake/summon (you can now do this fight as a team). If you end up going through all 10 rounds before the snake is dead, then you'll get attacked by the elite ninja, but in a team so hopefully the battle is easier. The elite ninja bit is still a major waste of time though. I've defeated the elite ninja in a team and nothing happened. Also, at the end, there is an anbu npc where you can drop items (or something, I'm not entirely sure, haha) that you apparently gather during the instance. Once your group gathers enough of each type, your group gets a buff (for the next group summon capture, I believe).

Basically, have a buddy/trio system ready before going in, and stay with your buddies till the very end.

Update! My group had a summon capture tonight, and I did defeat one of the hostile elite ninja squads with a team (I didn't even notice that there were three before; there's an Ay team, an Onoki team and a Mei team), and this time I noticed something dropped for defeating them. 1 Spirit (which is one of the 3 buffs you can get during the first phase), 50k coins and 5 coupons. It was... quite underwhelming, haha. But it's something, I guess? It also looks like the damage you do to the hostile ninjas counts towards your total damage. I was late to the summon capture, missed the first phase and didn't even reach the snake to fight it (since I got ambushed lol). so all I did was the elite hostile ninja fight, but I still got 15 coupons, exp, coins and a summon frag for it.

Also, note that in your team, whoever is in the center is mostly likely not gonna get to do much against the elite hostile teams. The middle team will be soaking up the damage and debuffs, mostly. xD

My main question about teams is can you fight snake in team, not only elite ninjas?

Yes, you can fight the snake in a team. You just need to form the team before entering the summon capture area. ^^

Can someone explain me how this attempts look like,

last time in group summon I had normal 3 attempts, today..after 1st attempt I've realized that we can form team, so I went back to HQ form a team try to attack snake and now I've 0 attempts, I left team...still 0 attempts. So I could attack summon only 1 time.

Did you get attacked by the ambush ninjas? If you fight ambush ninja and LOSE, you lose an attempt.

Yeah, the fact that we can't from team while in the summoning zone, which makes teaming up unnecessarily complicated. Can you forward that as a bug?

Is that for real? That the middle team is only tanking and won't do as much damage? I hope not.....

That's what I experienced when I was in the center against the Mei and Ay teams (I haven't encountered the Onoki team yet, but I can assume the same). In their own teams, the kages seem to have infinite initiative so they'll go first. Mei immediately combo'd my first move and controlled it so I couldn't do much with my main damage dealer. The middle team also eats all of the standards, so it kinda makes sense. My third and fourth position ninjas were the only ones that got to do any damage, really.
