Empress build struggles in the current meta. First of all, your main moves second, and almost every teamcomp uses at least one form of cc (be it acu, immobile, chaos), debuffs on top of it so karin cant clear those debuffs in order for main to act. Second problem is that empress build was meta during 1.0, when there werent that many ninjas. If you look at recently released good female ninjas, you have Fuu, hokage tsunade, sailor sakura and mei. The game lacks strong females, thats why this archetype is simply outclassed by dance of impetus teams. It's still easy to obtain free team, that works really well in the early game and vs blitz teams (since you take close to no damage r1).

You could try variation that i've recently seen: sasuke playboy, mei, mabui and wind main.

IamScrub: thats one opinion. Build itself is good for leveling (although getting karin from group shop is a pain, because each time u sacrifice 5 refines for 20 karin frags). The thing of this build is, that it's not meant to be played as auto/proactive build. It's reactive. Since everybody focuses main, with the lowest hp she will be the target of karin's heal and 1 debuff disperse. Adding flower guard removes second layer of debuffs from main and 1 debuff from other females. Even if main is paralyzed after all that, acupuncture chase from hinata after rasengan cast still applies to someone. Many wind mains run sasuke instead of kurenai just for additional mystery in case main is cced, still gets a full combo even without main. That being said, if opposing team is either faster on move2 or uses move1, without at least 3 debuffs wind main c*ways use mystery.

I'm not claiming this team is endgame, its not. It has its weaknesses like every other team, biggest of which is move2 action on turn2. After karin skill breakthrough comes to our version it will slightly strenghten the team, because of another debuff disperse provided by karin, when she uses 0chakra mystery. Also kurenai's skillbreak shield will remove all debuffs from target.

Sadly it's the only viable build for wind mains, that dont have good ninjas to work with dance of impetus mystery.
