Nagato is kind of wasted unless you are planning on using other Edo Tensei ninjas later on. Jiraya however can have multiple uses, especially if you dont have sage naruto.

Jiraya is pretty good and his price is too. You dont even need to buy all 80 fragments since you get some for free while roling dices!

And is Jiraiya's uses diminished if I DO have Sage Naruto?

Two sages with fire main can work quite well, yes. My most common team is them with Mei, for the immobile and just burning everything. With mirror mystery on main you can kind of deal with debuffs, ninjutsu urge gives limited healing. Either clone to protect Jiraya if you put main behind him, or Bani chakra if you want both sages mysteries round 2.

Alternatively you could swap Mei for Onoki, if you want to buff Naruto as well. You lose immobile (unless main uses 3rd mystery) and bit of ignite, but you usually overall gain a bit of damage...unless of course you get hella unlucky with Onokis back pains.

Bani chakra to main and Tendo to spot 4, if you dont get leeched then you can get Tendos mystery off round 1, kinda nasty. You get acupuncture too to combo, but no immobile.

Or then if you just need/want more healing for survival trial for example, you could put a healer in spot 4. Sailor Sakura or Tsunade would be probably best choices, but Kabuto or Jigokudo if you have him can work too.

I have Nagato, and I would recommend you to go for refines or something else, still refines or charms would be the best considering what events we have right now.

I tell you my honest opinion, Nagato is not a bad ninja, but its extremely hard to properly utilize him right now. When we get Edo 2 and Edo 3, with a wider selection of edo ninjas it will change, but atm its a waste to get him, and his price will surely go down. You may as well wait until you get ninjas to use with him.

Jiyaria and nagato are both unviable competitively. By the time there are enough edo ninjas to make nagato viable, you can pull him from treasure directly. If you are just trying to collect ninjas, go ahead and buy them. If you are not a collector.. you are much better off buying charm packs and/or refines.
