Really curious as to how arena power is calculated as it says that only initiative is taken into account and if that is the case how is it that I can have 300 more BP than an opponent and yet they get barrier. I have never seen this with barrier in arena I tryed to take ss of the powers we had however can't get one with power as keystrokes remove the power dropdown. Anyways does anyone know firstly how the power is calculated and then how is it that if it is calculated by initiative and I have the power advantage how can I possibly lose the barrier?

  • i made various tests about this matter by removing single magatamas and rune stones and by looking at the outcome before and after awakening, cultivating or upgrading the stars of a ninja and the outcome was that only when i removed initiative runes my arena BP changed. In all the other cases didn't change at all.So the displayed power is actually the power of the level 100 1 star version of a ninja (doesn't matter if the ninja actually doesn't own a 1 star version or if it changes its aspect at 2,3,4 stars).
The real question here is that what we see is actually what really happen on the field.

If that is so it makes it more suspect that this person with lower bp than me was able to get barrier.

  • no, what happens is that not all the ninjas have the same stats at level 100.
For example if you use a ninja like Orochimaru or Iruka your displayed power is very high because they have very high basic stats, but this doesn't mean your initiative is higher than your enemy. What i meant before is if you run a lineup and your enemy runs your mirrored lineup then, if he owns higher power then you means he actually have more initiative than you, but Power isn't a good indicator if your enemy doesn't run your same lineup for the reason i said.

done the math on it and my team comes out to 26150 their team comes out at 25892 which makes the difference 258 before initiative is taken into account. I was about 300 bp higher so in effect I guess that makes it only 50bp which is a lot closer to take the barrier.
Oh well either way that list is very helpful on shining a light on power for arena thanks.

  • Wait. There is a bit of misinformation here. All the stats matter in arena, there is just a multiplier of 0.1x. Ninja stars also are calculated in the same way. Meeting someone with 300 less power means you have at least 3k power more in the "real" world. The arena also consider your team overall initiative: this means that if you have much more initiative on your position 1, but less on the others, your opponent will act first regardless.

We have discussed and tested this many times with the help of Achroma in one of the pinned thread in the strategy section of the forum.
well I keep my initiative runes very even, all mine are rank 6 and turn 1 has rank 7 I do this as play a fair amount of arena and know it is an average.
