  • I do agree somewhat actually.

Its one of those chicken and the egg. We need the p2w to fund the game so f2p can play. At the same time, p2w need the f2p in the game to make the numbers.

If there's no p2w, the game collapse because there's no income to the makers, they won't see a point making more content and pushing the game, its not a charity. Looking on the other side of the fence, if there's no f2p, the p2w will eventually get bored with decreasing numbers in the servers.
that's not how it works though, the game is making more then enough money in china taiwan etc as those are the original releases, global is just for milking money. its not like oasis games create NEW content for global, they are just translating and implementing stuff that's already created and besides by now the game should have broken even on its profit if not made more money, spending loads in global mean making the devs rich nothing else. also I heard that all the sprites and character models in this game are based on modals from another naruto game called ninja storm revolution or something like that (it came up in one thread about future characters), this is a browser game I mean how much can the development cost be anyway and that only applies to china when the game was first released, you know what I think the fan boys are just scared global will be shut down if the devs don't get enough money its sad really.

also when it comes to games like these the marketing and advertising cost way way more then the development itself, that's how most android and Facebook games work.

  • F2P are really falling behind

Uhh.. not really ;P 6 players on top 10 rankings from my server are full F2P.
what server are you from? how many p2w are present in your server? (4 from your comment I think), your server doesn't represent the whole community, what you just said is 99% of servers and f2p are in top 10s and 20s because 99% of servers have no more then 25-30 total active accounts, the 1% servers are the first ones that players cant let go of because they put time and money into it and even those first servers have like 50-100 something players.

  • However, this version is just a franchise, which is run differently by a different management.

Like how all franchises work. You get to choose how you want to release your content (as long as its still possibly in line with China/Taiwan), how you want to earn your profits, but the big owner still gets a cut. So its doesn't matter how China/Taiwan, etc earns on their own, that's their cut. Oasis do not get their cut. Oasis is separate from them. Oasis earn their own, and possibly have to give part of their own cut to the original owners.

Just like maybe a fast food chain. You get the franchise to sell that product. How you want to run that restaurant is up to you. Wages to your staff, duty roster, etc is all up to you. As long as the recipe and menu is the same.
so what you are basically saying is that someone some random Joe (oasis in this case) decided ''rent'' someone elses mmo and they don't actually own the game they just do business with it, like how some people run shops with borrowed goods, they run a borrowed mmo. correct me if I am wrong

one more thing that last example doesn't really count in case of oasis as they don't even want to release the content in the first place let alone in what order.
