I noticed that some of my ninja's have a white bar under their health bar that helps with defense, how do I get it for the others?

The white bar is a shield. If you want it for other ninjas then get someone that shields your team

Do you have other teams with you?? i dont think gaara can give sai a shield.

If you want to figure out how to give buffs to others, read the passives.
For example

Oh, i thought that was for protection againts elemental jutsu, thats really nice to know.

Many ninjas like Iruka, Mabui, Gaara, Akatsuchi etc. gives a shield which most of the time stacks up. Pre 2.0 Earth Mains have an insane shield generating ability given that you raise his initiative high enough.

i think you're right, so you need to do a minimum twice a year whole body checkup and then you will be confident in your body.
