... Stop spending money.

It's that simple. Don't spend money on this game until they resolve the major issues of servers not being merged when they actually need to be or of arena being broken.

I lol'ed when I saw their snarky post on Facebook. It looks like it was written by a 12 year old.

Where did I mention normal players?

Edit: It's not just normal players, but all players. If everyone is so dissatisfied with the game, especially the top players in their respective servers, why are you (they) still spending money on it?

I used to work for a game company called TQ Digital. At the time, the company was pretty horrible, much worst than this game. There were thousands of accounts being broken into because of poor security measures, resulting in the loss of $10k++ of dollars worth of purchased items per game, they refused to take responsibility, blamed the players instead or said "We're not concerned about *ing cases during beta phase" and refused to refund what had been lost due to their poor management. There were times where players lost their accounts/were rolled back due to a mistake by an employee. They'd increase prices for items that players required in order to progress further, etc. This continued for quite some time.

Eventually we got sick of it and we simply stopped playing and spending money. Then they changed staff and we got our game back. Until it died because newer, better games run by better companies came out. In fact, probably all of their games are dead and I think they call themselves Net Dragon now.

So, if you think your money means nothing, think again. However, something like this only works if and when enough people actually do it. If no one can be bothered then I guess not a whole lot is going to change. And if no one tries, why are you all still complaining?

You're getting exactly what you pay for.

That should have said normal, not new. Swipe typing on tablet isn't perfect.

Trust me, we are trying our best to communicate with players:
http://forum.naruto.oasgames.com ... 4372&extra=page%3D1

This is just step 1 of what we are trying to improve on. While I understand that the recent bugs/problems/maintenance time/etc is making the community dissatisfied, we are really trying our best to improve on our communication with our players. This isn't anything like a "post-it-to-look-like-we-care" post. We did brainstorm on how to communicate better with the community for quite some time and I think this idea is worth a look at to be honest.

My view on arena: some complained unfairness for being matched with someone with BP higher than yours, some complained long matching time, and others complained about no cross server. I don't understand how unfairness work in arena as the only stats you bring in is the initiative bonus. Without this bonus, I believe more people will be complaining about arena as it will become a battle of who used their skill first and who have a better internet connection.

As for long matching time, I believe this is due to matching to people near your rank and very few people are at that rank matching. I personally never gone beyond 5min~ for a match (I am at Kage right now). However, I believe that there is another bug affecting this matching mechanism for some people/server and we are still in the midst of investigation. T_T

I can't comment much on server merges as I'm not familiar with it and I do not want to provide any false information. This post was last edited by Narbsy at 2017-2-18 22:01 This post was last edited by Narbsy at 2017-2-18 22:06

I get that. But the arena isn't so much an issue as much as the server merging is though. We're just annoyed that they continue to open new servers but refuse to take care of the ones that are already open. I guess they figure that as long as they keep opening new ones, new players that are * of how they're managing their current servers will spend money before realizing their server is going to die within a few weeks.

It's just poor management. They should merge all of the servers down to as few as possible, wait for them to fill up before making new ones to accommodate the overflow. Full servers of players that are satisfied with the game makes for some pretty good PR/promotion. Having a forum full of discontented and ignored players, however, does not.

It also doesn't help when game staff make snarky posts on Facebook, as though to make a mockery of the concerns of players. Whether or not the concerns of the players are trivial is irrelevant to responding in a professional manner. This post was last edited by Laliat at 2017-2-18 09:16

Please note that this is my opinion & observation and in no way represent the team.

From what I observed, server merge are done within servers that are about the same age. I believe this is to avoid a huge experience gap between the players. The experience gap wouldn't affect players at level 85 much but it will greatly affect players that have not reached level 85 as it means that players from a younger server will be facing higher level players more often. Due to this factor, it would be impossible to match servers based on top player's power or server's power. For example , if we matched server based on power, it would be s100 (older but little p2w) matching with s150 (younger but heavy p2w). There will be even power, but there is a huge experience gap if we were to match by power. Therefore, it will be difficult to merge server down to as few as possible. In my opinion, I would rather merge with server around my server age. I would rather get my ass kicked by one powerful player rather than get my ass kicked by almost everyone in the older server. Anyway, I believe the process to choose the server take a long time, which is why there are only a couple of server merge in every week.

New servers are always being opened to accommodate new players. New players wouldn't want to start in a old server, nor do they want to wait for a long period of time to start in a new server.

As for the snarky post on facebook, I'll feedback to the team about it. Thank you for pointing it out!

That's also understandable. But like all MMO's, there will always be old and new players. You don't see other MMO's constantly opening up new servers just because new players don't want to take the time to build themselves up just because the current players on that server are already stronger than they are. This mindset doesn't make any sense.

It also prevents stronger players from interacting with new players, building stronger groups by inviting and tutoring them on how to play the game, etc. It seems the company has no idea what players actually want and do things based on assumptions. What players want are stable, active servers. When players stop playing on a particular server, it's not because there are players that are stronger than they are, it's because people come and try the game, become bored or busy, stop playing, but because new servers are opening up, new players are less and less likely to join their server because it's no longer at the top of the list. So, if players quit due to boredom and no new players join, the current players just quit that server and join a new one because that server is currently full and active.

Players crave interaction and activity. This is what keeps people playing. Neglect that and players will move on to something else. This post was last edited by Laliat at 2017-2-18 10:14

well changing the rules 2 times for arena rewards because you had bug and didn't want to bother giving rewards out is just pitiful . first you changed it to 60 days hoping to silence people up than you guys changed it again to 60 days before 1 february to make sure we can't argue anymore . if it was mention it would be like that from the start i could understand but changing the rules 2 times while you were giving out the prizes because you failed to deliver to some servers is just .... i leave this word to your imagination i don't want to get banned

I'm sorry but, I just can not agree with the thing about initiative.
Keeping the initiative changes the fight from "who pressed the *on first (like it should be on even conditions) and who has better internet connection" to "who spent most money and who has better internet connection "

Initiative is by far the most important stat in game, especially on similar levels, and high enough iniative advantage allows player to completely ignore the speed of skill, and formation.
When a player casts his slow skill from position 6, before your interrupt from position 1 triggers, it is definitively no fun at all, and turns what was supposed to be a match on even conditions to a one sided slaughter.

At least that's how much effect it has in normal battles, where sometimes a weaker player gets a win on because of high initiative, can't say if the effect is exactly same in the arena, because it's nearly impossible to get a match.

In MMOs, it's true that there will always be old and new players. However, you must remember that Naruto Online has a energy system, which means that it doesn't reward players for the amount of time they put in. It also means that they can only gain a certain amount of experience in a day. A new player can start in s1 and build himself up and get his ass kicked to level cap , but he will never ever beat any of the players there because of the very limited amount of resources he can gain. It's like asking a small country to fight a huge country.

I agree with your second statement to a small extend. I agree all the points that you stated out about what players want. We are also working hard to remove bugs and making the server more stable. However, having worked with them for quite a while, one thing I must point out is that we do not do things based on assumptions. If you have any good suggestion to promote player interaction, please do suggest it to the thread I pointed out in my first comment. Regarding the server opening, refer back to my first point.

New servers are always being opened to accommodate new players. New players wouldn't want to start in a old server, nor do they want to wait for a long period of time to start in a new server.

As for the snarky post on facebook, I'll feedback to the team about it. Thank you for pointing it out!

also regarding this merge that you are saying that you should merge by lvl and not by power lmao. you can take me as an exemple btw that you can outlvl older servers easily even when you never used to get first place at kyuubi(not i get top 1 because our old top 1 player quit ) and if u missed several of them since server began. i got more lvls than ppl from server 269 a server 4 days older than mine , a server i would love to get a merge with unlike server 273 ( power gap btw ranked 10 player on 273 and ranked 10 player on 276 is 10k power , 8k difference btw rank 1 and 10k difference again btw rank 2 players ) but if we go by your rules we have higher chance to get merged with 273 than 269 and simply quit because we aren't relevant anymore dropping from top 1-10 to top 6-53 depending if u were rank 1 or 10 ) which would obvious make every quit dropping from being top 10 on a server to top 53 maybe more because i only discussed a merge with 1 server not 2.
another exemple regarding a server close to mine , server 284 everyone from top 10 on their server is higher lvl and power than people on my server ( only i have higher lvl than them , but the other players are 2-3 lvls behind ) power difference is huge again their top 3 all being stronger than me the top 1 while their top 10 player is stronger than the top 2 player on my server . Again they servers are close to one another and you would think we the older server would be stronger but of course , we would get our ass handed. If my server wants to be in anyway competitive after a merge we would have to get 269 or 280 not 273 or 284 . 269 is all strong players most of the top 10 is stronger than my top 2 ( i think 7-8 ppl are stronger than him ) and 280 is about the same power as 269 while we 276 the middle server are the weakest except for me the top 1.
Days and and levels don't matter as much as power and you know that but you keep insisting you are doing it for the well being of the community that u merge by how close the servers are to one another .
To me it's because you guys are lazy and dont want to check servers which are appropriate in power when its much faster if u just select the 2 closest servers.

Also want to note that the gap between my server and all servers near us is getting wider every day because lack of people to plunder , lack of sage world except sunday sometimes and other resourses i kept mentioning whenever i complained about my server you can find them in several threads i replied it i dont want to type it here again.

  • In MMOs, it's true that there will always be old and new players.

How are resources limited to players with a lower power than the strongest player? There is nothing in the game that is limited to any player, regardless of power, save for features that are unlocked by level. We have players that are lower th* in terms of power on our server and they're still able to do all the things we do.

Daily and Weekly missions.
Kyuubi.
Rank matches.
Plot and Elite instances.
The various events.
Team and Group instances.
Convoys and Plunder.
Capturing summons and ninja.
Eight Inner Gates.

There's probably more to this list, but what, exactly, are they missing out on just because they have lower power? There might be one or two things, sure, but these are hardly restricting anyone from playing or enjoying the game. As I've said, we have players that are lower in power than we are and we make sure they get their TI's done daily, etc.

The only thing that divides the top players and the new players is time. That's it. I started on my own server a little late myself, the top ranks being at least 10 to 15k higher than me in power, and yet I was still able to match and even surpass some in time.

Again, if you want to keep a server full, interactivity between players as well as activity (content), is necessary. If even just one of these things is neglected, it's enough to make people not want to play. People just want people to play with.

Regarding the arena, there was miscommunication about it and I have nothing much to comment on.

Regarding your point on merge, I tried reading through your post about 10 times now but I am having difficulty understanding your post. I am however, in no position to comment on how server are merged because I'm not the one handling it.

  • Trust me, we are trying our best to communicate with players:
    http://forum.naruto.oasgames.com ...

This post was last edited by Narbsy at 2017-2-18 22:01 This post was last edited by Narbsy at 2017-2-18 22:06
ABOUT THE INITATIVE BOUNS WE DON'T MEAN YOU DELETE IT WE MEAN IT BECOMES FOR EVERY CHARACTER IT'S OWN INITIATIVE NOT SOMEONE OUTSPEED MY TEAM INSTANTLY WINS , OMG IS IT HARD TO UNDERSTAND?

Alright, let's imagine a scenerio we are talking about a completely new player in a server with the highest level being 60.

#1, Kyubi, they don't compete fairly, thus a lot lower amount of gold and coupons, therefore limiting resources.
#2, Rank match, even before they reach level 45, they don't stand a chance climbing the rank. Thus, longer in getting shop ninjas.
#3) Sage world, self explanatory, you will get kicked out within seconds, whereas if you start in a new server, you stand on even ground.
#4) Eight inner gates, new players started a lot slower than the rest, therefore weaker runes. Beside, don't forget that they do not get much gold from kyubi by being at the bottom of the board, further limitation on resources.
#5) Other players are already ahead of you in terms of resources already. Time may allow you to surpass stronger player, but how long will it take to catch up to someone who already have high refines and is getting way more resources?

Function may be unlocked by levels, but if you are a new player, would you start and play in a old server? Again, I agree with you that interactivity between players is necessary. However, I believe we are not lacking in content.
