- you guys are all talking without knowing anything, i am working in software development and ill tell you it doesnt matter how good you prepare for patches of a live service it wont work out how you plan it 90% of the time. so chill out and wait till maintainance is done
I am a software developer too, and what we do is to do pull the latest copy of the server to our localhost, test server, staging server and do all the test there before posting on the production. No testing should be done on production except if there is no other choice. It is all about good and bad practices and the management willingness to make sure the servers are up and running. if the management really wants no downtime, they can just tell the dev to come up with the staging servers. -

My first impression: Not many f2p will have a fun week ahead unless they're coupon horders.
Just asking. Is it possible to sched rebate events and let ppl know about it so they don't end up using their keys/ scrolls/ runes a few days before the event comes? There was an event before ( I forgot what it's called tho) where they ask you to refine 100 times. Next week comes and there's a refinement event lol. Can you keep that thing from happening?
Lame tactic from OG again. They posted event earlier for 2 weeks and suddenly stopped posting them this week. Additional $70 in the bag for OG but lost the respect from the community for not doing what they have announced to do. -

For a big company like OG that caters like 500k players (like they claimed), a downtime of 5 hours will cost them more than a test server with staging server. Also, a good blade server that runs VM multiple instance can do this kind of job, surely they have this in their office. If they do not need the staging, they can just switch it off no problemo and not use the resources. -

There is nothing lame about this. It's simply bad business for them to tell people what is coming in advance. With more information players can make calculations. Being calculative saves you money. So if you get no information you cant do calculations.
And honest to god if you just went ham and used all those keys without atleast waiting one day FOR THE POSSIBILITY of key rebate, you're an idiot.

I dont know who you are and I do not care who you are but the welfare of the customer should always be the one of the top priority of OG if they want to have a satisfactory rating and long term customers playing their game. Are you even reading what you are saying? Please don't make yourself look * here coz it seems you are the only one who is happy for OG not to post event thread in advance :)
Last year, they mentioned that they will start posting thread prior to any server maintenance to inform the public but they only did it for a week, this year I remember it well they(moderator not sure daiske or Acer or who) mentioned it again and did it for the past 2 weeks, everyone was happy getting to know the upcoming event and for this week they stopped doing it.
Yep, Used the 3 cave packs, I can buy the 2000 cave keys again no problem, so what? What I am just trying to point out is for OG to be atleast professional about it and keep to their words which they lack. Let us be honest, they are not the most honest company around, that is 1 thing for sure. -
