The night had set and the moon was high, however the village was as lively as any time of the day. The light of the giant bonfire would touch every part of the village, a true symbol of the Will of Fire which grew stronger by each passing generation.

High above the crowded streets, filled with decorations, music, stalls and families strolling around, you could find Naruto, sitting on the end of a roof looking down on the village he wishes to protect. His once joy-filled blue eyes were now tear-eyed ones, only filled with the light of the bonfire which was still burning bright in the distance. He never had a night like that, a night of just walking around aimlessly with his family, a night where he would be showered by his parents’ affection just as the kids down below were.

Naruto was so inside his head, imagining what a night like that would be like, that he didn’t event realize Breeze Dancer was approaching behind his back. She jumps on his back and presses her chest against him back whispering on his ear “What are you doing now?~~”, Naruto between his surprise and embarrassment slips and almost falls from the roof, but manages to barely maintain balance and get back up on his feet.

“You gave me such a scare” he says, realizing at that moment that his eyes were still wet he quickly turns around and exclaims loudly “I was so concentrated on the music I didn’t hear you” and sends and awkward laugh as he tries to stop the tears before she notices.

Breeze Dance gives a him a smirk and says “Well, what kind of ninja are you if you can’t even hear me coming?”, Naruto turns around and gives another embarrassed grin to her. “But you still haven’t answered my question…” she continues, “what are you doing here?”

Naruto tries to dodge the heart of the question by answering vaguely “just seeing the bonfire… what are you doing here?”

She gives another mischievous smirk to him “Coming to get you of course!” she says as she turns around and jumps in the air, only turning her head back to ask “are you coming or not?”

“Ah!? What!?” exclaims Naruto, confusingly springing to follow after Breeze Dancer

After a few minutes they reach the top of the mountain where the Hokage faces are sculpted on, and such was his surprise to the sight he came to behold that he was at a loss for words. His friends were having a picknick while watching the bonfire, the Ino and Tenten were putting out some food, Hinata was petting Akamaru while Shino and Kiba were talking nearby, further away he could see Azure Fang and Scarlet Blaze talking cheerfully on the edge of the cliff, as well as many others of his friends around.

Naruto turns around asking confused “what’s this?” only to realize Breeze Dancer was no longer near him, but slightly afar, teasing Midnight Blade which was getting challenged by Crimson Fist. At this moment Kiba notices him and shouts “NARUTO! You’re finally here, everyone was waiting for you”

Naruto surprised blurts out “What.. What’s going on here?”

Sakura comes from behind and hits him in the back saying “we’re having a picknick of course! Well, we knew you never spent much time at the bonfire festivals, so we figure out this year we would find a way to make you come see it and… this was it”

Naruto swallows in dry and tries to keep his tears from flowing down as he send a big, bright smile saying “Thanks guys!”

They spend the rest of the night embraced by that bonfire’s light, filled with warm and happiness.
