So i was thinking about it, to make it more fair for everyone.

Would like to suggest to make Matsuri into a power bracket, so everyone would have a chance at prizes and it would be more fair to everyone.

let's say for example:

0 to 1000BP
passed the 1000 BP u would be included on the 2000 to 3000BP and so on.

prizes wouldnt change of course, but this would be much better in my opinion of things, the actual randomness of matsuri makes it frustrating sometimes, especially for low battle power people, not saying they will not have a chance, but they are slim chances of getting anything good.
And if they change the battle power to a lower one, it's going to be the one registered in the power ranking, in case anyone would try to bug out the system. I hope this suggestion will be a good one.

  • yeah they should change that as well it appears that after 1 min you get paired with someone completely random regardless of how long the other person have been queued in. so they should change it so pass 1min you get paired with other person who has also exceed the 1min mark
also i remember how arena works right now. when i was trying to help a low lvl group mate do arena quest despite being qued in for more than a min we would only get match once his timer exceed the 30sec mark. so they should so that to matsuri

Hey

As I previous stated, I'll bring it up with the team and see we can can improve the matchmaking system.
Thanks for your inputs.

  • BP based matchmaking would mean people with good ninja combos would have free wins over others of otherwise similar BP, which is a problem in itself.

Changing the 1 minute match anyone would probably be a better solution. Instead of anyone after 1 minute, maybe gradually increase the range based on how much time has passed by. For example, up to 2k pow difference for < 1 min. up to 4k difference at 2 mins, 6k at 3 mins ect. The matchmaking time would be longer, but it would get you less frustrating (mis)matches. There would still need to be a match anyone limit, say at 5 mins, so people with absurd pow would still be able to get matches.

  • Not for my server (S286 - Blasting Combo).

First off, this "cross-server Matsuri" doesn't even apply for my server because all anyone in my server ever faces off against are each other.

Secondly, I still fight people 20k+ below me even though there are ppl who are closer to me in BP, like 9k away from me.
If your server isn't cross-server, it's considered a bug that you may post here

  • First matches are generally matching people with the nearest BP/Level (It wont be perfect)

However, winning a single match inflates the matchmaking, making players face people who are stronger.

Just imagine players with 70K+ power, they'll always break the matchmaking system due to who they are.

I'll toss an idea to the team about improving matchmaking and see where it goes from there.

what power is used for this bracketing? The power on the ranking or the specific team used in the masuri battle?

Hard bracketing like this have the following issue:
If bracket is wide, then some players will almost always win while other almost always lose, this is a far worse situation than where we stand now, which is more RNG based.
If brackets are narrow, there will be players who have very few peers, therefore matching becomes impossible and bleed into "match anyone" which is a worse thing. And even if it is narrow, there will be a small group of player, probably heavy ptw with powerful super rare ptw ninjas that will dominate their bracket, with no risk of losing, not entirely desirable.

Brackets for players over 60k will also be problematic due to their rarity, granted they are a problematic group in any form of matching system, so this is kind of moot.

Overall, while this could improve the life of some players and the perciption of fairness for others, on the grand scheme of things, this less fair than what we currently have.

At least people would have a chance to fight and not be just stomped like a turd under someone's shoe because matchmaking is horrible and they never tried to fix or improve it. But hey, since matsuri doesn't give money to them and it's free things for players, the less players that got that the better. :@ way to go game
